Describe the boards and nearby water concerns
Mel One’s carpentry work includes repair and replacement of eaves boards and related timber. Describe visible deterioration and any nearby gutter leak or indoor water mark. The damaged board and the source of moisture should be considered as separate parts of the enquiry.
Unidentified materials need care
Do not disturb an unidentified board to photograph it. Timber work does not establish a scope for hazardous-material removal or structural alterations. Send existing information from a safe position, and flag any known material or access concern.
The board and the moisture source both matter
Fascia sits along the roof edge, while eaves lining covers the underside of the overhang. Peeling paint, staining and deterioration can have different causes. When telling us about a damaged board, mention any nearby leaking gutter or roof concern too.
Ongoing moisture may need attention as well as the board itself. Your quote can show whether the nearby water source is being investigated and whether roof or gutter work is included.
Material, access and finishing
The board material, extent of deterioration, access and desired finish all influence the quotation. Your quote can show the removal, replacement, painting and any gutter work included. If a structural alteration is needed, it can be discussed as its own part of the job.
Please do not cut or disturb an unidentified lining to obtain a sample. Existing material information or previous reports are helpful; when the material is unknown, an appropriate assessment can be arranged before work is agreed.
What affects the scope and price
Mel One provides free quotations. The price of the work depends on the affected area, material, condition, access, preparation and scope. Identify repair, cleaning, painting and any gutter or timber work separately. If an attendance inspection or an independent written report is needed, clarify that arrangement separately.
What to send with your enquiry
Provide the suburb or postcode, what you have noticed, when it occurs and the work you are considering. Roof material is useful if known. Photos are optional and should be taken only from a safe position. Mention access constraints and any previous inspection or repair.
A few useful answers
Can I ask for cleaning without painting?
Yes. You can enquire about cleaning, painting or both. Describe the current condition and the work you want so the scopes can be discussed separately.
Does storm damage mean the whole roof needs replacing?
The timing alone cannot establish that. Roof and drainage concerns need to be distinguished. Share when the issue started and what can be seen safely; do not assume either a minor repair or a full replacement before assessment.
What if I do not know the material or cause?
Start with your suburb, when the problem happens and what you can observe. Roof material and photos are optional. You do not need to climb onto the roof to enquire.

Yes. Mel One provides free quotations. If you need a separate attendance inspection or written report, tell Allen before booking so the arrangement and any cost are clear.
