Where the roof meets another surface
Tell us whether water appears near a wall, chimney or skylight and when it happens. Flashing is part of the weathering detail at a junction; the visible indoor mark does not prove that flashing is the cause. This enquiry belongs with roof leak assessment.
Roof weathering is not the whole adjoining structure
A concern around a skylight does not automatically require skylight replacement. Chimney structural work, glass systems and other specialist work need their own confirmed scope. Share any existing report so the enquiry can identify those boundaries.
Understanding a roof junction
Flashing helps manage water where roof surfaces meet walls or other interruptions. A leak noticed near a skylight or chimney may involve the junction or an adjoining component. Note the location and rain conditions so the relevant details can be considered.
Previous sealant patches, changes to adjoining walls and earlier roof work are useful background. An assessment can look at how the whole detail sheds water, including more than the most visible gap.
What a flashing quotation can show
Your quote can identify the junctions, materials and adjoining surfaces included. Access around a chimney or high wall, the length of the detail and removal of earlier patches can all influence the work. Masonry, glazing and internal finish work can be listed when they are part of the agreed job.
When the water source is uncertain, start by telling us about the leak and the conditions when it appears. The quotation can then explain the proposed work before you decide how to proceed.
What affects the scope and price
Mel One provides free quotations. The price of the work depends on the affected area, material, condition, access, preparation and scope. Identify repair, cleaning, painting and any gutter or timber work separately. If an attendance inspection or an independent written report is needed, clarify that arrangement separately.
What to send with your enquiry
Provide the suburb or postcode, what you have noticed, when it occurs and the work you are considering. Roof material is useful if known. Photos are optional and should be taken only from a safe position. Mention access constraints and any previous inspection or repair.
A few useful answers
Can I ask for cleaning without painting?
Yes. You can enquire about cleaning, painting or both. Describe the current condition and the work you want so the scopes can be discussed separately.
Does storm damage mean the whole roof needs replacing?
The timing alone cannot establish that. Roof and drainage concerns need to be distinguished. Share when the issue started and what can be seen safely; do not assume either a minor repair or a full replacement before assessment.
What if I do not know the material or cause?
Start with your suburb, when the problem happens and what you can observe. Roof material and photos are optional. You do not need to climb onto the roof to enquire.
Do you service my suburb?
Mel One accepts enquiries across Sydney, including the CBD and suburbs. Enter your suburb in the form or call Allen on 0450 666 867 to discuss the work.
Are quotations free?
Yes. Mel One provides free quotations. If you need a separate attendance inspection or written report, tell Allen before booking so the arrangement and any cost are clear.
When can someone attend, and can I ask in Chinese?
