A colour refresh or a combined project
Tell us whether you want to refresh the existing finish, change colour, or combine cleaning and repainting. Include the roof material if known and describe the condition of the existing finish. A photograph is helpful but does not establish coating compatibility on its own.
The surface matters before the colour
Preparation and product suitability depend on the roof material, its current condition and the selected coating system. Ask what cleaning, repairs, priming and coating stages are included before choosing a colour.
Keep repairs visible in the quote discussion
An existing leak, loose component or damaged gutter needs to be described separately. A new surface finish should not be presented as a guaranteed remedy for all roof defects. Ask for the painting scope and any separately assessed repair work to be made clear.
Good preparation supports a lasting finish
Colour is only one part of repainting. The roof material and existing coating help determine the suitable preparation and coating system. Loose finishes, surface build-up and local deterioration are all worth discussing before the final colour is chosen.
Your quote can set out the preparation, any repairs agreed with you and the intended finish. Product selection will follow the relevant manufacturer requirements. A photograph can help show the look you prefer, while the roof itself still needs to be considered for adhesion and material compatibility.
Comparing painting quotations
Compare quotations for the same roof area and level of preparation. Cleaning and local preparation add different work from coating alone. The quote can also show access arrangements, protection of nearby surfaces and any included repairs.
If the roof also leaks, include that concern in the repair discussion. A fresh coating renews the surface finish, while any underlying defects need their own appropriate repair. Allen will confirm the visit and suitable working conditions for the job.
What affects the scope and price
Mel One provides free quotations. The price of the work depends on the affected area, material, condition, access, preparation and scope. Identify repair, cleaning, painting and any gutter or timber work separately. If an attendance inspection or an independent written report is needed, clarify that arrangement separately.
What to send with your enquiry
Provide the suburb or postcode, what you have noticed, when it occurs and the work you are considering. Roof material is useful if known. Photos are optional and should be taken only from a safe position. Mention access constraints and any previous inspection or repair.
A few useful answers
Can I ask for cleaning without painting?
Yes. You can enquire about cleaning, painting or both. Describe the current condition and the work you want so the scopes can be discussed separately.
Does storm damage mean the whole roof needs replacing?
The timing alone cannot establish that. Roof and drainage concerns need to be distinguished. Share when the issue started and what can be seen safely; do not assume either a minor repair or a full replacement before assessment.
What if I do not know the material or cause?
Start with your suburb, when the problem happens and what you can observe. Roof material and photos are optional. You do not need to climb onto the roof to enquire.
Do you service my suburb?
Mel One accepts enquiries across Sydney, including the CBD and suburbs. Enter your suburb in the form or call Allen on 0450 666 867 to discuss the work.
Are quotations free?
Yes. Mel One provides free quotations. If you need a separate attendance inspection or written report, tell Allen before booking so the arrangement and any cost are clear.
When can someone attend, and can I ask in Chinese?
We are open daily from 9 am to 9 pm Sydney time and reply in English and Chinese. Call Allen and he will discuss a suitable attendance time with you.
