Terracotta roof tile aligned beside a metal valley

Describe the affected tiles

If you can see a broken or displaced tile from a safe position, tell us where it is and whether there is an indoor leak. A visible damaged tile and the full water-entry path are not necessarily the same issue. Do not climb onto the roof to identify a tile profile.

Local tile work and roof ridges

Mel One repairs tiled roofs, including replacement of damaged tiles and ridge work. The required quantity, tile compatibility and ridge condition need to be established for the particular property. Tell us about any earlier repairs; a full replacement enquiry is a separate scope to confirm.

Finding a compatible replacement tile

Tile profiles and materials vary. The shape, size and condition of the surrounding tiles affect whether a replacement will fit properly. A similar colour does not always mean the profile is compatible. If you already have spare tiles, let us know when discussing the job.

A broken tile, a displaced tile and deterioration around a ridge may call for different work. Tell us what you can see and whether there is an indoor leak. Where suitable, a local tile replacement can be considered without moving straight to a whole-roof replacement.

What shapes a tile-roof repair?

The number and position of affected tiles, availability of compatible material, ridge condition and access all influence the work. Your quote can show whether removal of damaged material and any adjoining ridge work are included.

A surface photograph may not reveal conditions beneath the tile. If further defects are found during assessment, we can explain the additional work and discuss it with you before anything is added.

What affects the scope and price

Mel One provides free quotations. The price of the work depends on the affected area, material, condition, access, preparation and scope. Identify repair, cleaning, painting and any gutter or timber work separately. If an attendance inspection or an independent written report is needed, clarify that arrangement separately.

What to send with your enquiry

Provide the suburb or postcode, what you have noticed, when it occurs and the work you are considering. Roof material is useful if known. Photos are optional and should be taken only from a safe position. Mention access constraints and any previous inspection or repair.

BEFORE YOU ENQUIRE

A few useful answers

Can I ask for cleaning without painting?

Yes. You can enquire about cleaning, painting or both. Describe the current condition and the work you want so the scopes can be discussed separately.

Does storm damage mean the whole roof needs replacing?

The timing alone cannot establish that. Roof and drainage concerns need to be distinguished. Share when the issue started and what can be seen safely; do not assume either a minor repair or a full replacement before assessment.

What if I do not know the material or cause?

Start with your suburb, when the problem happens and what you can observe. Roof material and photos are optional. You do not need to climb onto the roof to enquire.

Do you service my suburb?

Mel One accepts enquiries across Sydney, including the CBD and suburbs. Enter your suburb in the form or call Allen on 0450 666 867 to discuss the work.

Are quotations free?

Yes. Mel One provides free quotations. If you need a separate attendance inspection or written report, tell Allen before booking so the arrangement and any cost are clear.

When can someone attend, and can I ask in Chinese?

We are open daily from 9 am to 9 pm Sydney time and reply in English and Chinese. Call Allen and he will discuss a suitable attendance time with you.
