Cleaning without automatically repainting
You can enquire about roof cleaning on its own. Describe the deposits, staining or surface condition you want addressed, and whether you also want to discuss repainting. Roof-surface cleaning and clearing a gutter are different tasks and should be identified separately.
Choose a scope that suits the material
Tile and metal surfaces, existing coatings and sheltered sections need to be considered. COLORBOND guidance distinguishes naturally rain-washed surfaces from sheltered areas. A cleaning enquiry should not assume that one pressure or chemical treatment suits every roof.
If painting is also being considered
Cleaning and painting can be discussed as a combined enquiry. The cleaning scope, surface preparation and coating suitability still need to be separated. Tell us about peeling, corrosion or an existing leak so those concerns are not lost in a colour-change request.
Roof washing and gutter clearing do different jobs
Roof washing removes build-up from the roof surface. Gutter clearing removes debris from the channels that carry rainwater away. You can arrange either service or discuss both together, depending on what the property needs.
The cleaning method should suit the roof material, existing finish, fragile areas and access. Tell us about any known loose tiles, damaged coating or active leak so these conditions can be considered before cleaning.
What shapes a roof-cleaning quotation?
Roof size is one consideration. Pitch, height, safe access, the type and extent of build-up and protection of nearby surfaces also matter. Your quote can show whether the whole roof or selected sections are included, along with gutters and surrounding clean-up where discussed.
Cleaning can make the existing surface easier to see, but it does not replace broken components or create a new, uniform colour. If a renewed finish is your goal, we can also discuss roof painting.
What affects the scope and price
Mel One provides free quotations. The price of the work depends on the affected area, material, condition, access, preparation and scope. Identify repair, cleaning, painting and any gutter or timber work separately. If an attendance inspection or an independent written report is needed, clarify that arrangement separately.
What to send with your enquiry
Provide the suburb or postcode, what you have noticed, when it occurs and the work you are considering. Roof material is useful if known. Photos are optional and should be taken only from a safe position. Mention access constraints and any previous inspection or repair.

A few useful answers
Can I ask for cleaning without painting?
Yes. You can enquire about cleaning, painting or both. Describe the current condition and the work you want so the scopes can be discussed separately.
Does storm damage mean the whole roof needs replacing?
The timing alone cannot establish that. Roof and drainage concerns need to be distinguished. Share when the issue started and what can be seen safely; do not assume either a minor repair or a full replacement before assessment.
What if I do not know the material or cause?
Start with your suburb, when the problem happens and what you can observe. Roof material and photos are optional. You do not need to climb onto the roof to enquire.
Do you service my suburb?
Mel One accepts enquiries across Sydney, including the CBD and suburbs. Enter your suburb in the form or call Allen on 0450 666 867 to discuss the work.
Are quotations free?
Yes. Mel One provides free quotations. If you need a separate attendance inspection or written report, tell Allen before booking so the arrangement and any cost are clear.
When can someone attend, and can I ask in Chinese?
