When you are considering a new roof

What a replacement quote can cover
A roof includes more than the visible covering. Your quote can explain the ridge and junction details, flashings, drainage connections and any adjoining areas affected by the work, along with removal, disposal, the new covering, access equipment and making good disturbed areas.
Insulation, skylights, gutters, fascia and any structural changes can each be listed as included, priced on their own or not required. This gives you a clearer basis for comparing quotations.
Plan materials, access and the work sequence
Material choices depend on the building, roof shape, exposure and project requirements. Let us know whether you would like to retain the existing appearance or explore a different finish. Existing plans and previous roof reports are helpful when available.
Before work begins, we can talk through access, weather-dependent stages, protection for an occupied property and any approvals relevant to the proposed change. A clear quotation will describe the planned work as well as the price.
What affects the scope and price
Mel One provides free quotations. The price of the work depends on the affected area, material, condition, access, preparation and scope. Identify repair, cleaning, painting and any gutter or timber work separately. If an attendance inspection or an independent written report is needed, clarify that arrangement separately.
What to send with your enquiry
Provide the suburb or postcode, what you have noticed, when it occurs and the work you are considering. Roof material is useful if known. Photos are optional and should be taken only from a safe position. Mention access constraints and any previous inspection or repair.

Should I repair the roof or replace it?
That depends on the extent of damage and the condition of the remaining roof. We can talk through local repair, restoration and replacement, and explain why an option may suit before you decide.
Does roof replacement include new gutters?
New gutters are included only when they are listed in the quotation. The roof covering, flashings, gutters, disposal and any adjoining repairs can all be shown clearly, so you know what is covered.
Can I change the roofing material?
Tell us the material or appearance you prefer. Suitability depends on the building and proposed change, including any structural or approval requirements that need to be resolved for the project.
Are quotations free?
Yes. Mel One provides free quotations. If you need a separate attendance inspection or written report, tell Allen before booking so the arrangement and any cost are clear.
When can someone attend, and can I ask in Chinese?
We are open daily from 9 am to 9 pm Sydney time and reply in English and Chinese. Call Allen and he will discuss a suitable attendance time with you.
