Repair a component or replace a section

Describe leaking joints, sagging, holes or a section that has separated. Mel One clears, repairs and replaces gutters; the required extent is determined for the property. A cleaning request should not automatically become a replacement recommendation.

Downpipe connections and other drainage

Include any visible issue where a gutter meets a downpipe. The scope of downpipe or roof-plumbing work must be confirmed separately where applicable. Underground drainage and main-pipe unblocking are different company services, not automatically part of a gutter repair.

Is the gutter dripping or overflowing?

Water dripping from a joint or visible hole points to a different concern from water spilling over the gutter during rain. Overflow can involve debris, the outlet or the drainage arrangement. A stain on the fascia can help locate the affected area, though the cause still needs to be considered.

From a safe ground position, note where the water appears and whether the gutter looks separated, distorted or sagging. Please stay off ladders and roofs during rain; a description is enough to begin the conversation.

Repairing a joint or replacing a damaged run

An isolated joint concern and widespread corrosion may lead to different repair choices. The remaining material, condition of supports, gutter profile and connection to adjoining sections all matter. We can explain why a repair may be suitable or why replacement is being considered.

For replacement work, your quote can list the measured length, corners, outlets, removal of old material and any fascia repairs discussed with you. Tell us if downpipes or underground drainage are also a concern so they can be considered.

What affects the scope and price

Mel One provides free quotations. The price of the work depends on the affected area, material, condition, access, preparation and scope. Identify repair, cleaning, painting and any gutter or timber work separately. If an attendance inspection or an independent written report is needed, clarify that arrangement separately.

Provide the suburb or postcode, what you have noticed, when it occurs and the work you are considering. Roof material is useful if known. Photos are optional and should be taken only from a safe position. Mention access constraints and any previous inspection or repair.
