What the photographs show
The photographs show broken terracotta tiles, cracks and separation in ridge mortar, lichen on the tile surface and sediment in gutter channels. Other views show valley flashing and weathered timber at the gable. These are records of the visible condition, before a repair outcome is established.
Separate tile repairs from ridge work
A damaged field tile and a failed ridge joint call for different checks. Tile replacement requires a compatible profile and an assessment of the area beneath it. Ridge work starts with checking the caps and their bedding, before deciding whether pointing alone is appropriate.
Follow the water path through the junctions
The valley and flashing views help identify the parts that carry water between roof slopes. An inspection can check laps, surrounding tiles and discharge points. A photograph of a crack alone cannot establish where an indoor leak begins. Tell Allen when the leak occurs and which room is affected.
Include the gutter and roof-edge details
Gutter sediment and weathered timber are separate items in the repair discussion. Clearing debris does not repair a damaged gutter joint, and painting weathered timber does not confirm that it remains sound. Each area should have a clear scope so that cleaning, local repairs and replacement are easy to compare.
